For our March meeting, we had an evening critiquing photographs brought in by our members. Mike Harrison led the critique, but we all assessed the images by considering the following points:

  • Perspective / Photographer’s vision
  • Focus
  • Distractions
  • Use of Colour / Black and white
  • Originality
  • Reason to look (Impact/presence)

Mike started the evening by applying these criteria to three images from the internet. Then we had a lively in depth discussion of one (there wasn’t time for more!) photograph from each member. These are shown below. In addition we discussed prints that some members had brought along.
