The secret life of the bank vole by Tony Matthews

While photographing birds in this woodland, I noticed these bank voles scurrying around amongst the leaf litter. I wanted to get pictures that showed the world in which they live. I used a remotely controlled camera and wide angle lens to take close ups that also showed the woodland and a telephoto lens for portraits. They got used to the camera and my presence very quickly and a few sunflower seeds tempted them out of cover.
