Amanda led a practical evening during which we made our own cyanotype images. Luckily it was a warm sunny evening, but we still had to start making the images as soon as we arrived at 7:15 pm. Placed out in the garden, the images took 45 minutes to develop. They were then washed in two different baths to fix them. Later in the evening we used a UV box to develop some images. This reduced the development time to about 8 minutes.
While we were waiting for the images to develop, Amanda gave a short talk on the history and process of making cyanotypes using the following slides.
Just two of the images that we created.
