Black & White or Colour?

Each club member provided up to 3 images. For each image, a colour and a black and white version processed in one of the following ways:

  1. Both showed exactly the same scene, but one processed for colour and one for black and white. Used to demonstrate how one works and one doesn’t (or both work in different ways).
  2. The same photograph processed twice – for colour and black and white. Used to show how a different crop or other processing is required to get the best out of each medium.

The photographer introduced both versions of their images and then there was a general discussion about the merits of black and white or colour as they applied to the image.

These are the images submitted by club members. We discussed all images in the first two groups.
